Description

The Regional Director of Operations plays a pivotal role in the organization, leading a team of operations leaders across the region’s Operating Companies. This individual is responsible for standardizing and implementing key performance indicators (KPIs) and measurables, as well as establishing daily disciplines and routines across the locations. The position entails managing the fleet, equipment, and resources across multiple Operating Companies, promoting best practices, and realigning resource allocation based on operational exigencies. The Regional Director of Operations must be a strategic thinker with a robust operational background and the ability to drive results in a fast-paced setting.

Requirements

Differentiators:

· Change management: Extensive experience driving cultural and operational changes across multiple sites or organizations. An influencer with the ability to build consensus amongst all levels of the organization.

· Acquisition and integration: Prior role within the private equity sector scaling a service organization with high volume organic and inorganic growth. Demonstrated success through various stages of the organization’s life cycle. Deep expertise integrating small companies to include building operational structures and best practices.

· Business acumen: Beyond ability to interpret financial statements and other business metrics. Proven examples of using key performance indicators to drive business results in a seasonal, labor dependent service organization. This includes the ability to analyze information and understand when to pull on levers, combine resources, and accurately use information to assess the risk of decisions. Often this knowledge is gained through having spent time in multi-functional roles.

Accountabilities:

· Standardization and KPI implementation: Lead the standardization and implementation of KPIs and measurables across Operating Companies. Ensure that performance metrics are consistently tracked and reported on. Support and integrate new Operating Companies into the region, ensuring alignment with established metrics.

· Operational efficiency: Establish daily routines and disciplines to maximize operational efficiency. Drive continuous improvement and implement best practices developed through consensus and collaboration. Utilize data and reporting to drive operational decisions and focus for the regional Operation Companies.

· Communication and partnerships: Partner cross-functionally to ensure seamless operational execution, working closely with all stakeholders to address operational challenges and opportunities. Establish and clearly communicate objectives and goals to Operating Companies. Facilitate effective communication, tailoring message to audience and serving as a liaison between regional Operating Companies and senior leadership.

· Forecasting and planning: Ensure that all operational teams are prepared to meet the demands of each season. Allocate and manage equipment, fleet, and resources across Operating Companies to ensure optimal utilization; this includes planning for seasonal needs such as snow removal or weather-related challenges. Forecast resource needs and oversee procurement processes to ensure adequate supplies, equipment, and labor. Suggest and oversee approved Capex projects and budget.

· Quality assurance and safety: Conduct periodic quality assurance/site audits to uphold quality standards; implement actions to correct areas for improvement and set the standard for best in class. Oversee safety programs across Operating Companies, driving a safety-first culture through leading by example, promoting training, and holding field technicians, support staff, and leadership accountable.

· Leadership and mentoring: Mentor and lead other operational leaders, providing guidance and using constructive feedback opportunities to drive performance. Collaborate with Operating Companies to identify and grow talent.

Experience and Qualifications:

· 5-7 years of experience in an operational leadership role within a service-centric industry, preferably landscaping.

· Previous exposure to private equity environments and acquisition processes is advantageous.

· History of successfully driving operational success within an Operating Company or across multiple locations.

· A passion for building and developing high performing teams.

· Deep expertise and experience solving complex and difficult challenges resulting in rapid growth and scaling.

· Demonstrated proficiency in collaborating and influencing others to achieve success.

· Strong business acumen, enabling effective budget management and forecasting.

· Understanding the service industry, including market trends, competitive landscape, and regulatory environment.

· Ability to pivot between strategic and tactical responsibilities as needed.

· Experience with EOS preferred.
